As a history teacher with a penchant for exploring the Mediterranean's rich past, I recently found myself at Lynwood-a hotel that offers an interesting take on luxury and value. For £50 a night, the hotel definitely positions itself as budget-friendly. It's worth noting that the sign touts 'bed and breakfast,' but breakfast wasn't provided during my stay. While this could be misleading, the cleanliness of the room was commendable, although it was quite compact. Guests above a size 16 might find the space tight, particularly between the sink and shower. Simon, the owner, was welcoming and accommodating, even managing to upgrade my room due to a cancellation - a thoughtful gesture. The hotel is in a decent location, approximately ten minutes from local attractions, with convenient parking just a 5-minute walk away. Housekeeping was consistent, and the shower had good pressure, which is a significant plus after a long day of exploring. For those traveling on a budget but attracted to a friendly atmosphere, Lynwood provides reasonable value, though future guests may need to adjust their expectations regarding breakfast services.
